I've moved around the workshop and into the lot. The workshop is to the right in this picture.
As you can see from this picture, the surface of the screen is not flat.
I'm now standing at the base of the screen looking up along its edge. The screen surface is actually white, not gray as it appears in this picture.
Here is a close-up of the screen surface. It is constructed of overlapping shingles screwed into the tower face. The texture of the screen is NOT visible during exhibition.
Turing around, I took this picture of the lot. The two story structure at the top of the hill is the combination snack bar/projection booth.
Mr Curtis showed us several pictures his son had taken of the theater during various time periods. With his permission, I took pictures of these pictures -- note the fingers in the bottom of the frame!
This picture was taken from the entrance lane. As I mentioned earlier, the face of the hill has been terraced to provide rows for parking cars. If you look carefully, you'll notice that each row of cars is higher than the one before as you move back towards the rear of the lot.
This picture was taken from the exit lane. Not only does the hill slope down towards the screen, it also slopes down from one side to the other!
Up on the hill behind the cars, you can see the combination snack bar and projection booth.
